MEET THE CAPTAINS

Captain Kevin Falgout Jr. was born and raised in South Louisiana, where he grew up fishing for redfish and speckled trout in the bayous and marshes with his father and brother. As a teen Captain Kevin became hooked on snapper fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, as it was easily accessible by way of his father's bay boat when the weather conditions were good. With all that he has learned throughout the years a new passion for taking others to enjoy nature and the sport of fishing developed. Captain Kevin founded Southern Angler Fishing Charters in September of 2021 and has never looked back. He prides himself on the fact that by using his years of experience and knowledge of fishing that he can do what is necessary to ensure guests have an exciting and action-packed trip.

Captain Austin Rivault has been fishing the Grand Isle area ever since he could walk. His Uncle "Captain Randy Rivault" and late Father instilled in him at a young age a love for the outdoors. Captain Rivault has done it all from winning fishing rodeos to competing in Calcutta's for Red Snapper. His experience and never quit attitude is what makes him a die hard Fishing Charter Captain and an asset to the Southern Angler Team. From children to the most experienced anglers Captain Rivault can tailor to any needs and challenges thrown his way to make any trip a memorable one.

Capt. Justin "J-MEL" Hymel - At a young age while fishing in the Grand Isle area he became fascinated with the different techniques used to catch fish in Saltwater. His love for saltwater fishing quickly turned into a love for all types of fishing when he found his groove and began to fish with some of the best bass fisherman from all over the country. Even competing in the Bass Master Tournaments! After some years of enjoying all that the freshwater lakes and bayous had to offer, something inside of Justin brought him back to his roots and he made his return to Grand Isle, but this time he was no longer just an amateur angler, but a Professional Fishing Guide.
